Modern Kitchen, Gloss Alabaster and Rough Cut Oak

A Modern Kitchen with Striking Feature Wall

The customer originally has a separate kitchen and dining room but wanted a more open plan space. We created a single kitchen diner by removing a wall, providing the airy, open feel desired. The main focal point of the kitchen is a dramatic feature wall with tall units, in Rough Cut Oak, sunk into a tiled wall with lighting to the rear which created a ‘floating’ effect. We kept the look very simple and yet it contains a number of appliances and storage solutions including a single oven, microwave and warming drawer; a tall larder fridge; and a larder unit with drawers fitted inside.

The theme of the kitchen was modern yet warm. We achieved this through a combination of materials: a high Gloss Alabaster and a Rough Cut Oak; the former providing sleek lines and the latter a softer, warmer feel. Coloured glass behind the hob area introduced just a little colour to lift the room.

Handleless doors were not only in keeping with the modern design but functional in terms of easy cleaning. The Pergo tile effect flooring was kept light to maximise the feeling of space and also ran into the utility room and entrance.

The customer, Mrs Louise Menzies, was delighted with the result:

“Having a kitchen re-fitted is a daunting and exciting; my main concern was disruption of our home, especially worrying as I was at home daily with 1 year old twins!

Dean and the team fit into our home so well it wasn't like having workmen in. They quickly got the job done with little disruption. They work so hard and really care about the job in hand and making sure you're happy. Excellent service and workmanship.

And the best bit, they project manage everything, plumbing, electrics, plastering, flooring, kitchen, etc. So so pleased with the end result and the guidance given.

I would not hesitate to recommend them to anyone.”
